Photographing children

One of the essential tips for photographing children is to forget the pose guide and shoot them as they are. Photographing children often you have a short window to capture the image. Talk to them and get them used  to the camera. As in everyones' portrait it's best to focus on the subject's eyes and make sure they are sharp. Photograph everything from their level. That means you should get down and sometimes lay on the floor or grass. I use continuous mode, the medium or large aperture, which gives blurred background and some lenses produce a beautiful bookeh, and Auto ISO mode so camera will decide on ISO and shutter speed. To set up Auto ISO you should read the manuals of your camera and use the following settings: ISO sensitivity maximum 3200 and minimum shutter speed 250. The thing to remember is that large aperture gives a shallow depth of field.
